DOVER-FOXCROFT - Roberta M. Robinson, 78, wife of Alfred E. Robinson Jr., went home to be with the Lord Sept. 10, 2013, at her home, after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born April 12, 1935, in Garland, the daughter of Kenneth and Amber (Foster) Pearl.

She had retired from the Department of Human Services after many years. Family was the most important thing to Roberta. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and she left her tree up year round. She was an extremely generous woman with a great sense of humor, who will be remembered for her cooking as well.

Roberta is survived by her husband, Alfred E. Robinson Jr. of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Cindy Rowe and her husband, Edward; two grandsons, Gary Robinson and Brocke Robinson; two granddaughters, Sueann Robinson and Kimberly Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle, Ian and Grace; a brother, Dennis Pearl; and a sister, Diana Ricker. She also leaves six stepchildren, Elinor Reynolds, Peter Robinson, William Robinson, Katie Pushor, Barbara Marshelletta, and Timothy Robinson; several stepgrandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Juanita Boucher.

Friends are invited to call 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where a funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, with Pastor Garnett Chute of the Hermon Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Rural Grove Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Support Program, care of Acadia Hospital Foundation, 1 Cumberland Place, Suite 300, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402.
