OCALA, Fla. - Robert L. Brown, 67, of Biddeford and Eagle Lake, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Ocala Regional Hospital, Ocala, Fla., after a short illness with cancer. He was born Nov. 27, 1944, in Fort Kent, a son of Theodore and Katharine Burns Brown. He was educated in Fort Kent schools, graduating from Fort Kent High School, class of 1963. On July 5, 1965, he married Jacqueline Landry at St. Joseph Church, Wallagrass. She died Feb. 14, 2004. Robert and his bride moved to the Biddeford area in 1965. Here he worked more than 15 years with Nike Shoe Co., Saco, 15 years with Sebago Moccasin, Westbrook, and last worked for CN Brown Co., Kennebunk, retiring in 2009. In retirement he wintered in Ocala, Fla. He enjoyed all sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. Surviving are one son, Craig A. Brown of Old Orchard Beach; one daughter, Denise B. Lucier of Limerick; three brothers, John Brown of Eagle Lake, Philip Brown and his wife, Toshie, of South Portland and Joseph J. Brown and his wife, Jean, of Eagle Lake; one sister, Elizabeth Laplante and her husband, Richard, of Mapleton; two granddaughters, Kaelyn and Isabella Lucier of Limerick; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Margaret's Church, Old Orchard Beach.
