BANGOR AND OLD TOWN - Robert C. Trembley, 89, died Nov. 28, 2012, at a Bangor nursing facility. He was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Old Town, son of Benjamin C. and Stella M. (St. Peter) Trembley.

Robert served during World War II in France, Rhineland, the Ardennes and African Middle Eastern Theater. He also served in the Korean War. Robert retired from Maine Air National Guard in 1983 with more than 36 years of total service to his country. He was a communicant of St. John's Catholic Church, Bangor, for many years and a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 1761.

He is survived by two brothers, Randolph B. Trembley of Old Town and John N. Trembley of Milford; two sisters, Margaret Messier of Old Town and Gloria C. Messier of Westbrook; and one special cousin and care giver, John A. LeBlanc of Bangor. Robert was predeceased by one brother, Richard Trembley; and one sister, Lorraine Julian.

Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at St. John's Catholic Church, Bangor. Interment with full military honors will be afterward in the family lot at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
