ORONO - Richard "Dick" H. Robbins, 65, died July 8, 2012, with his family by his side, at his home. He was born Jan. 11, 1947, in Bangor, son of Hadley W. and Clara (Hammond) Robbins. Dick graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1965. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He took pride in marching in the local veterans' parades, and getting together with his fellow veterans at Bangor Veterans Center. Dick enjoyed fishing, playing solitaire and fixing cars. He also enjoyed time with his friends at McDonald's for coffee. He will be remembered for his generosity, willingness to help other and his hard work. Dick was a very loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Dick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cathy Robbins; son, Kevin Robbins and wife, Jennifer, of Glenburn; daughter, Tracy Robbins and significant other, Mike Sapiel Jr., of Argyle; sister, Carol Robbins of Alton; very special grandchildren' Brandon, Joseph, Connor, Aliya and Caleb; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Ryan; and brother, David Robbins. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
