OSBORNE - Richard H. Jordan Sr., 67, went home to heaven April 30, 2013, after a brief and courageous fight with cancer. He was born May 21, 1945, the son of Anton R. Jordan Sr. and Adell (Stevens) Haley.

Richard attended grade school in a one room school in Osborne, and graduated from Ellsworth High School, class of 1963. His life was filled with several different experiences from gas attendant, working in the woods, working as a linesman for Union River Telephone Co., and then his most joyful as a delivery truck driver for BSP. He had many leisure activities such as fishing, hunting, and cutting fire wood.

He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Frances (Worster) Jordan; sons, Richard Jordan Jr. of Bar Harbor, and Steven Jordan Sr. and his wife, Regina, of Bangor; daughters, Amelie (Jordan) Hichborn and her husband, Rodney, of Amherst, and Melinda Jordan of Hampden; grandchildren, Siobhana "Bhani," Alan, Kelli, Adam, Keeli, Steven Jr., Stephanie, Sarah, Kayla, Cody, Katelyn and Heather; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Jacqueline Leavitt of Ellsworth; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins; and special dog, "Cubby." He also had many who called him Daddy, Grampa and "Uncle Rip."

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Pastor Matthew Ward officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Aurora-Osborne Cemetery, Aurora, after the service.
