CORINTH - Raymond A. Rumney, 63, died Jan. 23, 2013, at his home. He was born March 31, 1949, in Camden, the son of Paul L. and Lavaughn B. (Wellman) Rumney.

Raymond graduated from Belfast High School, class of 1968. Raymond served in the U.S. Army and he was a Vietnam veteran, where he received a Bronze Star. He worked for many years at Hartt's Transportation. Raymond enjoyed working on small engines, especially lawnmowers. Raymond was a great husband, father and grandfather.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joyce A. (Cunningham) Rumney; one son, Doug Rumney of Cincinnati; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Henry of San Antonio and Karen Beach of Bangor; four grandchildren, Christopher Henry and Sean Henry, both of San Antonio, and Peter Caruso and Parker Whitney, both of Bangor; four brothers, Chris, Paul, Ashley and Jimmy; three sisters, Rose, Ella and Mary; several nieces and nephews, and many friends at Hartt's Transportation. Raymond was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Church of Hope, 562 Ledge Hill Road, Corinth. A reception will be after the service. Interment will be later in the spring at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
