DETROIT - Rachel L. Robinson, 81, died peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2014.
Rachel was born in Medway, Maine, on March 7, 1932, the daughter of Stanley and Blanche (Caswell) Bailey. She was employed in the neighboring shoe shops, woolen mills, and served as a waitress in many of the local restaurants. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister and was a wonderful care giver to her parents. She enjoyed cooking for the food ministry at the Solid Rock Church of God and will be missed very much by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Perrie and her husband, Donald, of Sussex, New Brunswick; her grandchildren, Becky Ribas and her husband, Rodney, of Otisfield, Matthew Berry of Detroit and Karen Curtis and her husband, Keith, of Vassalboro; her step grandchildren, Donald, Michael and Sharon; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Simon Caswell and wife, Corinne, of West Old Town and Stanley Bailey of Detroit; her sister, Gladys Brown of Corinna; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved son, Michael Bailey; her brothers, Herman Caswell and Sherman Caswell; and her sisters, Shirley Rockwell and Madeline Hagg.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Grindstone Cemetery, Grindstone Road, Medway, Maine.
