HOULTON - Phyllis Arlene Spellman, 75, died May 6, 2012, in Houlton, with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 10, 1937, in Houlton, the eighth of 13 children to James and Roxie (Sewell) McAfee. She was a member of First Baptist Church, involved in missions, American Baptist Women, True Blue and T.O.P.S. She is survived by two children, Linda Polchies and husband, Rodney, and Rick Spellman and wife, Bernadette, all of Houlton; two grandchildren, Jessica Milton and Dylan Polchies; and siblings, Dana McAfee of Littleton, Laura Snell of Houlton, Winona Schools of Houlton, Judy Fitzpatrick of Littleton, David McAfee of Augusta and Kenny McAfee of Littleton. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; and brothers, Philip, Clarence, Orin, Donald, John and Albert. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at First Baptist Church, Court Street, Houlton, where funeral services will begin 11 a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.
