OLD TOWN - Patricia Ann Stetson, 64, died peacefully June 22, 2012, surrounded by friends and family at her residence after a brief battle with cancer. She was born May 8, 1948, in Dorchester, Mass., a daughter of John and Patricia (Burrill) McGuire. Patricia was a devoted mother to her four sons and "Nana" to her two grandsons. She volunteered for many years at Holy Family Church Pantry and Church Life Ministry, and Special Olympics. She was an avid hockey fan; watching and supporting all four sons through their hockey years and following the Maine Black Bears and Boston Bruins. She was employed for many years at Verizon, retiring in 2006. She is survived by four sons, Gary Michael Stetson Jr. of Houston, Texas, Joseph McGuire Stetson and wife, Charity, of Greenfield, Matthew John Stetson, and Adam Patrick Stetson, both of Old Town; two grandchildren, Joseph and Evan; four brothers, David McGuire and wife, Kathleen, Brian McGuire and wife, Debra, Edward McGuire and wife, Donna, Michael McGuire and significant other, Mary Green; sister, Mary Powers and husband, Paul; sister-in-law, Martha McGuire; a very longtime and dear friend, Ellen Brewer; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John McGuire; and niece, Maggie McGuire. Friends may call 9:30 a.m. Monday until time of departure to church at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, Old Town. After the service all are invited to the parish hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Committal services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery, Bath.
