MADAWASKA - Odette Levesque, 87, passed away peacefully Jan. 18, 2013, with her beloved family by her side. She was born June 21, 1925, in St. David, daughter of the late Joe and Agnes (Durant) Cyr.

Odette worked as a sales clerk at department stores for many years. She was known for her love of shopping and her many trips to Bangor. She enjoyed going for coffee with the "Golden Girls." She loved people and having a good time.

She is survived by three sons, Eldon and his wife, Della, of Phoenix, Philip and his wife, Judy, of Frenchville and John "Archie" and his wife, Lisa, of Madawaska; two daughters, Gloria Martin and her husband, Phil, of Madawaska and Lola Fongemie of Frenchville; 10 grandchildren, Karen Mills, Gail Andrews, Brian, Bruce and Eric Martin, Shawn and Adam Levesque, Shana, Jake and Matt Fongemie; 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Rella Cyr of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews. Odette was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Archie Levesque; her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and James Fongemie; grandson, Bryce Levesque; her sisters, Eva Cyr and Lona Dionne; and her brother, Gilbert Cyr.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at Lajoie Funeral Home. Spring interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
