BANGOR - Our dear, loving mother, Norma (Boulter) Fletcher, 94, passed away March 14, 2013, at a Bangor health care facility. She spent her life giving of herself to family, friends and the community. She was born March 17, 1918, in Rangeley, the daughter of Webster and Evelyn Boulter.

At 4 years of age the family moved to Prince Edward Island, where she attended a one-room school. Later, after two years at Prince of Wales College, she returned to the United States and took up residence in the Boston area, where her sister lived. She met Norman, her husband of almost 70 years, in Malden, Mass. They moved to Claremont, N.H., and raised their four children. She was a Bible teacher for years and brought its positive message to all she met. She was so vibrant, even at 94, and she had such faith and good humor, that it doesn't seem possible that she's gone. Norma's lemon loaf was the talk of the neighborhood. She was a pianist, a seamstress and a singer.

She was predeceased by her husband, Norman; her son, Johnnie; and her sisters, Jean Reed, Celine Baird and Flora Gorrill. She is survived by daughters. Judy Bennett and husband, Wayne, of Bangor and Marianne Palagonia and husband, Peter, of Arizona; son, Melvin Fletcher and his wife, Carolyn, of Auburn; and grandsons, Jamin Fletcher, Jeffrey Fletcher and Jonathan Palagonia.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2029 Broadway, Bangor. Interment will be in New Hampshire at a later date. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately after the service. Condolence to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
