HOLDEN - Natalie Mae Mansell, 83, passed from this life Dec. 30, 2012, to sing with the choir of angels in heaven where she will once again resume her place as first soprano soloist. Nat, as she preferred, was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Waterville, to Harold C. and Fannie (Phippen) Finnemore.

After meeting at Nat's Kitchen, a family coffee shop, she wed Durward A. Mansell, Nov. 27, 1949, and proceeded to be a stay at home mother, raising her five children. In 1967 she rejoined the workforce, returning to her love in the food industry. Nat spent years at Kresge's, Mammoth Mart, Zayre Coffee Shop and, until the time of her death, was employed for 25 years at the Ground Round Restaurant as a hostess. Natalie was currently a member of East Orrington Congregational Church, a former choir member of Winterport Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Nat was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Durward; and her grandson, David. She is survived by her five children, Colby and his wife, Shirley, of Virginia, Ron and his wife, Deborah, of Hampden, Timothy and his wife, Fern, of Winterport, Dale Kimsey of Bangor and Dirk and his wife, Deanne, of Hermon; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Finnemore of Waterville; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Please join her family in a celebration of Natalie's life 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at East Orrington Congregational Church with the Rev. Carl Schreiber, senior pastor, officiating. A reception in her honor will be held afterward in the Church Fellowship Hall. Spring interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
