BREWER and LUBEC - Muriel E. Dinsmore, 91, died peacefully Jan. 3, 2013, at a Bangor hospital, with her family at her side. Muriel was born Nov. 9, 1921, in Lubec, the oldest daughter of Arthur and Sarah (Doone) Marston.

Muriel was brought up and educated in Lubec. She lived in several lighthouses on the coast as a child, including the West Quoddy Headlight, as her father was a lighthouse keeper. She later moved to Portland, where she and her husband, Ronald, lived for 40 years, and upon retiring they moved back to the Bangor area to be closer to family. Muriel worked most of her life as a medical secretary. She was married to her beloved husband, Ronald "Mike" Dinsmore, for 68 years, until his death in 2009. Muriel loved to cook, sew, travel with friends and plan parties. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and close friends. Her "get-togethers" were always filled with great food, laughter and love. Muriel will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Muriel is survived by her daughters, Gloria Wasson of Brewer and Carol Campbell and husband, Terry, of North Augusta, S.C.; her grandchildren, Julie Foss and husband, Scott, Harold Wasson, Mike Wasson, John Campbell and wife, Tammy, and Karyn Grass and husband, Corey; 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Norton of Waterboro; a brother, Fred Marston of Ellsworth; as well as several nieces and nephews. Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband, Ronald E. "Mike" Dinsmore; five brothers, Earle, Wayne, Noel, Keith and Edward Marston; and a sister, Vivian Nettles.

In keeping with Muriel's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.
