PETALUMA, Calif. - Michael "Mike" P. O'Donnell passed away Jan. 26, 2013. Born Aug. 12, 1927, the youngest of nine children, son of Michael C. and Eugenie O'Donnell, Mike lived most of his life in his beloved state of Maine.

He will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor, love of life, and friend to everyone he met. As an adventurer, he sailed across the Atlantic, was a lifelong reader, skier, swimmer, party giver, gourmet chef, golfer and woodcrafter. Mike was the president of Limestone Chamber of Commerce, Aroostook Chamber, member of the Rotary, a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, chair and instructor for the Red Cross, chair of the Maine USO clubs, president of the Maine Rexall Club, and executive secretary and president of Maine Pharmacy Association. He devoted his entire career to pharmacy, owning Gammons Rexall Pharmacy, Limestone; then becoming director of the Drug Program for Maine Department of Health and Human Services. He served as director of Out-Patient Pharmacy at King Khalid University Hospital in Saudi Arabia and practiced pharmacy until he was 81.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryne of Highland, Utah; his children, John of Monmouth, Kathleen of San Francisco, Louise Martin and husband, Jeff, of Petaluma, Calif., Brian and wife, Dede, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Meghan Jardine and husband, Tom, of Dallas; his three stepchildren, Marsha Kilgore, Kent and Brien Maxfield, all of Utah; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Feb. 9 at St. Vincent's Church, Petaluma, Calif., and one in Maine early July.
