BREWER - Marion A. (Sawyer) Ellis Grover, 88, died Nov. 10, 2012, at a Bangor health care center. She was born March 1, 1924, in Brewer, the daughter of Charles and Bernice (Lawrence) Sawyer.

Marion graduated from Brewer High School in 1941 and will be remembered as an accomplished seamstress and avid gardener. She was a former 4-H and co-operative extension leader, and a member of Brewer Historical Society, Brewer Garden Club and Columbia Street Baptist Church, Bangor. She retired from Husson College in 1986 and spent many wonderful winters in Englewood, Fla. Her time at Ross Manor was made special by the caring staff and especially by nurses Cindy and McKenzie.

Marion touched many hearts and she will be greatly missed by her family including children, Carmen Norton and her husband, Anson, of Criehaven Island and Cape Coral, Fla., Lynn Brooks Hunt of Bangor, David L. Ellis and his wife, Nicki, of Holden and John A. Ellis and his wife, Jessica, of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Larry and Laurie Tardiff of Rockland, Kristi Bond and Erica Brooks of Bar Harbor, Benjamin Ellis of Charlotte, N.C., Brian Ellis of Denver and Joshua Ellis of Phoenix; great-grandchildren, CJ, Noah, Willa, Olivia, Brady, Camilla, Ruby and Avery; special relatives including Linda and Richard Ireland of Orrington; sister-in-law, Ellen Young; and several special nieces, nephews, cousins and stepgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lewis K. Ellis; second husband, Richard Grover; sons-in-law, Michael Brooks and Walter Hunt; siblings, June Joubert and Arthur Sawyer; and her beloved dog, Molly. Marion's family gratefully thanks the staff of New Hope Hospice for their excellent care.

Friends and family may visit 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a service honoring her life will be held 1 p.m. as the visitation concludes. The Rev. Dr. Foster Williams will preside and a private interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
