BANGOR - Marilyn (Ayer) Blaisdell, 87, wife of 60 years to the late Carl E. Blaisdell Jr., died peacefully May 2, 2013, at a Bangor health center. She was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Bangor, the daughter of Harris and Hazel (Falvey) Ayer.

Marilyn attended schools in Bangor and worked for Merrill Trust for several years. She and her husband loved the time spent taking trips to the coast with frequent stops at Jordan's, Ellsworth, and picnics with her nieces and nephews. Marilyn lived simply and was a wonderful aunt.
Surviving is many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; and 10 siblings, Audrey, Beverly, Mac, Don, Bobby, Billy, Priscilla, Barbara, Dick and Joan. Marilyn and her family gratefully thanks Paula, Joe, Jim, Sandy and Laurie and her friends at Country Villa, Bangor, and her family appreciates the kindness of the staff of Westgate Manor.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service honoring Marilyn's life 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher at All Souls Congregational Church, presiding. Those attending are asked to meet 1:45 p.m. at the cemetery office, State Street entrance.
