BRADENTON, Fla. - Marian Louise Benner Wakefield, 75, continued on her journey Feb. 22, 2013, after courageously battling a long illness. Marian was born July 9, 1937, in Columbia Falls. She is reunited with her loving husband of 42 years, Roger D. Wakefield.

Marian is survived by her six children, Virginia L. Hight, Daniel C. III, Christopher C., Zachery E., Melanie S. Wakefield and Kathryn M. Randall; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marian follows her dear sister, Patricia Bolte. She is also survived by her loving sister, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Wilson; brother-in-law, Mr. Charles E. Wilson; brother-in-law, Mr. Fred Bolte; and beloved nieces and great-nieces.

Marian found great joy in participating with Wassookeag Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 44, of which she held many offices, including the honor of worthy matron. "Mame" was well known in her family community of Ripley, as "the amazing cook." Her crafting skills were exemplary and shared with immense love. Marian gracefully served in many social service capacities in each community of which she lived, especially in the towns surrounding Ripley, in her summer haunt in Sanford and at Presbyterian Villas of Bradenton (Fla.).

Notes and cards of fond recollections are welcomed by her family. Please send to Kathryn Randall, 332 Ridge Road, Fairfield, ME 04937. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th St., West Bradenton, FL 34205.
