MAPLETON - Margaret "Betty" McLaughlin Dow, 86, went home to be with her Lord Jesus, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill, where she had been a resident for four years. Betty was born in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Charles T. and Hazel O. (Beckwith) McLaughlin.

She was married to her husband, John "Ralph" Dow of Mapelton, for 55 years before he passed away in 2004. Betty was a member of United Baptist Church, Mapleton, for more than 50 years and served the Lord there in many capacities. She was a tireless worker, also working as a cook at the Christian camp Baptist Park for many years. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Ann Dyer of Mapleton; and her three grandsons, Harley R. Dyer and his wife, Barbara, of Beech Island, S.C., Todd K. Dyer and his wife, Christina, of Grovetown, Ga., and Andrew J. Dyer of Mapleton. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Harley's children, Harley M., Sonserae, Dakota and James, and Todd and Christina's children, Levi and Joy. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Friends and family may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Mapleton Baptist Church where a funeral service will be held 4 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Phelps officiating.
