BANGOR and WINTERPORT - Malcolm David Lane Jr., 45, passed away June 5, 2012, due to a motorcycle accident in Hampden. Malcolm was born Dec. 9, 1966, son of Malcolm D. Lane Sr. and Donna (Ashey) Pooler. Malcolm enjoyed NASCAR, the outdoors, fishing and motorcycling. He cherished his children, fiancee, family and friends. He enjoyed carpentry for many years. Malcolm was the happiest when he was helping others. There was not a day that went by that he did not lend a helping hand to someone. He was the kind of person that never expected recognition for his endless deeds. He is survived by his lovely fiancee, Vicki Leathers of Winterport; their son, Joshua David Lane; his son, Ryan David Lane; his daughters, Ashley Marie Lane and Tricia Lee Mutty of Bangor; father, Malcolm and Perlene Lane of Oakfield; mother, Donna Pooler of Thomaston; brothers, Steve Pooler of Portland, Torry and Hilary Lane of Oakfield, Ronald C. and Shannon Pooler of Milford, and Troy and Michele Bishop of Smyrna; sisters, Sonya and Randy Moleon of Wells, Tanya Barnett of Umatilla, Fla., Allison and Joe Reynolds of Rockland, and Tracy Bishop and Dell Merrit of Brewer; and grandmothers, Alice Lane, Rita Burpee and Ethel Pooler. A very special mention to Joshua's godparents, Scott and Wendy Robertson, and their daughters, Brittany and Lindsey; eight nieces, seven nephews, two great-nieces, two great-nephews, many cousins, and many special friends throughout his journey of life that he always appreciated and never forgot. Family and friends may visit noon-2 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Pine Tree Cemetery, Pine Tree Road, Hermon, with Pastor Steve Nute officiating.
