HERMON - Lorraine Frances Mayhew, 69, passed away unexpectedly Dec. 30, 2012. She was born Jan. 1, 1943, in Carmel, the daughter of Perley M. and Alice E. (Wing) Mayhew.

Lorraine was an expert at putting puzzles together. She loved going for a ride in town just to get out of the apartment, shopping and having coffee with friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Ronald Mason; sister, Priscilla Shields; and grandparents, Willie and Mildred Wing. Lorraine is survived by her siblings, Galen Mayhew and his wife, Julia, Gerry Mayhew and his wife, Georgia, Roy Mayhew and his wife, Ellen, Carol Rancourt and her husband, John, Helen Newman and her husband, Dan, and Ronda Mason; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be sadly missed by her close friend, Judy Sproul; and all her friends at Boulier Place Apartments.

A graveside memorial service will be held this spring at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
