LINCOLN - Lela Barbara MacEachern, 88, wife of the late Robert A. MacEachern, died Nov. 22, 2012, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born June 15, 1924, in Linneus, the daughter of Willis and Clara (Goodblood) Bither.

Barbara's many accomplishments included everything from picking potatoes in "the County" to welding wet-bottom ships during World War II, to learning how to make quilts at the age of 80. She was a staunch Democrat and Red Sox fan. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and most of all, she loved doing for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children, Patrick MacEachern and his wife, Carol, Mary Sereyko and her husband, Mike, Michael MacEachern and his wife, Janet, Daniel MacEachern and his wife, Kris, and Sally Clark and her husband, Daniel; siblings, Vera Carmichael, Kenneth Bither, Willa Rockwell, Sonya White and Betty Gillette; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robert; nine siblings, including her twin, Leland Bither; and a great-granddaughter, Kelce Hazelton.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Myles Cyr officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Colonial Acres Healthcare Activities Fund. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
