PATTEN - Lawrence "Scondy" Shorey, 80, died Sept. 20, 2012, at his home. He was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Burlington, the son of Archie and Miranda (Sibley) Shorey.
He is survived by his wife, Rena (Morgan) Shorey of Patten; one son, Laurence and Bonnie Shorey of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Lois Shorey of Houlton; two grandchildren, John and Lisa Shorey; two great-grandchildren, Katlyn and Avery Shorey; four stepchildren, Reinelle Robinson of Patten, Richard Robinson of Island Falls, Audrey Cochran of Washington and Will Smith of Portland; six stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Charles Curtis of Orono and Ralph Curtis of Lincoln; and two sisters, Joyce Harvey of Patten and Viola Scales of Naugatuck, Conn. He was predeceased by his first wife, Beulah; and four siblings, Archie Jr., Geraldine, Viena and Glenwood.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Patten Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Shorey officiating.
