LUBEC - Lawrence Burns Jr., 67, born Jan. 10, 1946, in Tarrytown, N.Y., passed away suddenly April 8, 2013, under the care of a Bangor hospital.

He touched the lives of everyone he met through many states, towns, and cities. He grew up as a "Navy brat" and was proud of all the sights he was able to see during his childhood traveling with his parents. He was employed for over 35 years at Sikorski Aircraft, Stratford, Conn. He was a huge football fan of the New York Giants. He would also love his trips to Hollywood Casino, "punching the buttons", and was known for taking a risk. He especially enjoyed his time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Lawrence Burns Sr., of Bradenton, Fla.; four children, Amanda Locke and husband, Franklin, of Bangor, Kerry Brown and husband, Gary Brown, of Lubec, Douglas Burns and companion, Aretta Carter, of Bangor and Timothy Burns of Bangor; the mother of their children, Brenda Burns; "Grumpy" is also survived by four grandchildren, Jasmine and Kiaria Locke of Bangor and Peyton and Kendall Brown of Lubec; brother Robert Burns and wife, Camielle, of Stratford, Conn.; nieces, Tracy Sierdy and family of Torrington, Conn., and Nichol Pomales and husband, Pablo, of Stratford, Conn.; and special friends, Larry, Patsy, Ritch, Pat, Betsy and Dom. He was predeceased by his mother, Anna (Burlone) Burns.

A funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Eugene Gaffey, celebrant. Burial will be at Olson Cemetery.
