DOVER-FOXCROFT - Larry K. Cookson Sr., 72, died Nov. 9, 2012, at his home. He was born April 12, 1940, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Michael W. and Gladys M. (White) Cookson.

Larry graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1958. He worked at Dexter Shoe for 13 years and then was a self-employed woodsman for 35 years.

Larry was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Roland; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Cookson. He is survived by his daughters, Robin Snyder and husband, Bruce, Gladys Strout, Peggy Fogg and husband, Joey Sr., Julie Hinson and husband, Mark, Virginia Iddins and husband, Cory, and Teresa Arnold and husband, Steven; his son, Larry Cookson Jr.; special son-in-law, Ernest Strout; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandson; brothers, Michael Cookson Jr. and wife, Joanne, Norman Cookson and wife, Betty, and Fredrick Cookson and wife, Karen; and sisters, Eunice Cabell and Eva Hagins.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at Pine Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Chad Poland officiating. Gifts in Larry's memory may be made to CHCS Hospice, 1093 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426 and Pine Tree Hospice, 883 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
