BLAINE - Joyce May (Benson) Hoyt, 82, retired certified nurse's aide, went to join her husband, Earl, with the Lord Jan. 18, 2013, after several years of illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1930, daughter of Luther and Lena Benson Sr.
She is survived by a brother, Garold Benson and wife, Marilyn, of Groton, Conn.; two sons, Eugene Hoyt and wife, Susan, of Surprise, Ariz., and Robert Hoyt and wife, Veline, of Fairbanks, Alaska; five grandchildren, Ted Hoyt, Mary Luckey, Jason Hoyt, Vanessa Webster and Robin Freirch; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; mother and father; two brothers, Clayton and Luther Jr.; and three sisters, Mary, Hattie and Winifred.
Friends may call noon until time of service Friday, Jan. 25, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, where a memorial service will begin 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Tapley Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to
