MILFORD - Joyce June Treadwell Buxton, 82, had ended her worldly journey Jan. 6, 2013. She was born June 15, 1930, daughter of Edwin and Lyndel (Smith) Treadwell.

She was the loving wife of Linwood "Bucky" Buxton, who predeceased her July 1, 1979. She is reunited with her infant son, Taylor Linwood, who she did not have the opportunity to know until now. She was also predeceased by brothers, Waldo "Abe," and Durwood; sisters, Imogene, Wynona and Myrtal; and grandson, Thane Trimm. She leaves behind a brother,Shirley "Jake" Treadwell; sisters, Angie Trott, Geneva Eastman and Ida Whiting; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends, especially Gail Kill and Karen McCumber, who were a constant support to her family and loving friends. Joyce was a wonderful loving mother to three daughters: Joyce Ruskuski and husband, Daniel, and their children, Matthew and wife, Jennifer, Michael, Andrew and wife, Stacey, and their children, Andrew, Ethan, and Gracie; middle daughter, Karen Trimm and son, Jason and wife, Beth, and their son, Tyler; and youngest daughter, Lindi Avery and children, Eden Bard and husband, Albert, and their children, J.R. and Jefferey, Thomas "Buddy" Stanley and children, Rocky, Carleigh and Christina, Rae-Ella Whitely and children, Lyric and Lea. Joyce was known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "G.G."

Joyce had multiple talents she freely shared with others through her work as a seamstress, cake decorator and wonderful cook. Her greatest talent was her ability to love unconditionally. She loved being surrounded by children to care for and help grow. Her only regret as she departs this world is that she will not be in attendance at her great-granddaughter, Lyric's 18th birthday or high school graduation. Lyric stole G.G.'s heart as an infant and had always held it. The family thanks the staff and doctors at Eastern Maine Medical Center Grant 6 for the wonderful care she received while there this past week. A special thanks to her nurse, April, who was so supportive of Joyce and her family during her last days on her journey, as well as every person who cared for her and showed her true dignity and respect, never forgetting she was a person and not just a patient in their care. Joyce will be sadly missed. Thank you Mom, you were the source of our strength. We girls felt truly blessed to have had our wonderful loving mother. You can rest easy; your work here is done.

Visiting hours will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.
