BRISTOL, Conn. - Joseph G. Saucier Sr., 72, beloved companion of Karen Conrod, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. Joseph was born June 29, 1940, in Wallagrass, the son of the late Maurice and Lucie (Plourde) Saucier.

He lived most of his life in Bristol, Conn., and retired from the Bristol School maintenance department. Mr. Saucier was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Polish Legion of American Veterans, Zbikowski Post 2, Bristol Polish American Citizen's Club, Franco-American Club, Bristol, Conn., and he enjoyed playing cards at the club, going to the casino and fishing.

Mr. Saucier is survived by son; Jason Saucier of Bristol, Conn.; sister, Joan Saucier of New Britain, Conn.; grandson, Zackary Saucier; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Joseph Saucier Jr.; three brothers, Camille, Maurice Jr. and Jean Louis Saucier; and sister; Anne Marie Weaver.

Relatives and friends may call 1-3 p.m. Sunday, at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, Conn., with military honors afterward. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Please visit Joseph's memorial website at
