BENEDICTA - Joseph Eugene Robinson, died Nov. 13, 2012, after a long illness. He was born June 4, 1952, in Houlton, to Linnie (Humphrey) and Eugene Robinson.

Joe attended St. Benedicts Elementary and Katahdin High School. He spent his teen years helping support a large family of brothers and sisters. Most of his working life, he was employed as a truck driver in construction and wood harvesting. Joey enjoyed a good game of horse shoes, fiddle heading in local swamps, canoeing at Perry Pond and his canine companions, especially his most recent "Chum." He also loved to cook and particularly enjoyed making and sharing his pickles.

Joe is survived by his children, Joey and Karla Bishop of Island Falls, Rachel and Zach Goodwin of Houlton, Joe Robinson of Portland and Sabrina Robinson of Portland; and his grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Jordyn, Dillan, Isaiah and Gabrielle. Although not one for expressing his emotions, he cared deeply for all his children. Joey was also survived by brothers and sisters, Barbara and Philip Joyce of Brewer, Cathy and Terry Duffy of Benedicta, Susan Robinson of Portland, Bill and Lana Robinson of Benedicta, Steve and Kim Robinson of Benedicta, David and Peggy Robinson of Sherman, Lori and Mike Noyes of Levant, Gayle and Russ Gray of Northeast Harbor, and Fred and Amy Robinson of Topsham; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and a grandson, Zachary Gentle.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at St. Benedicts Cemetery. After the service, there will be a gathering for friends and family at the parish center.
