MACHIAS - God, our father in heaven, lovingly came and took John Crocker home Feb. 26, 2012. He was born Oct. 21, 1972, in Saigon, Vietnam, to Thomas and Ngoclien (Doan) Crocker. In 1975 Ngoclien fled Vietnam with John and his sister, Mary, to ensure their freedom and safety. John grew up in Machias and graduated from Machias Memorial High School. John enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, baseball - especially the Red Sox, boxing, basketball, football, video games and taking on the impossible. He was kind, self-less and a generous person to every living soul. John was very sociable and loved to make people laugh. One of his greatest passions was pit bull dogs, especially his best bud Thor. As an adult John moved to Massachusetts and worked hard at carpentry and various concrete jobs. John was known for living his life without fear and always giving his all in everything he did. He will be missed immensely by his family, friends and dogs. John was predeceased by his father, Thomas W. Crocker. John is survived by his mother, Ngoclien Crocker; his fiancee, Michelle Barrett; sisters, Mary and Edwin Tan of Cumberland and Kimberly and Jason Smith of Columbia Falls; and nieces, Samara A-L. and Novena A-L. Tan, and Mali and Nyah Smith. A special thank you to Officer Peter Holman, Officer John Jonas, the medical team at St. Vincent's Hospital and Athol Memorial Hospital in Massachusetts for their kindness and help to John and his family. Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 220 Court St., Machias, where a funeral service will be held noon Tuesday, March 6.
