BANGOR - Jocelyne R. Baranek, 63, died peacefully Sept. 21, 2012, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 18, 1949, in Drummond, New Brunswick, the daughter of Antoine and Marie (Michaud) Rivard.
Jocelyne received her Master of Business Administration degree from Husson University. She was the controller for Maine, Montreal and Atlantic Railway. Jocelyne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and at the beach.
Jocelyne is survived by her husband of 41 years, Albert "Butch" Baranek; two daughters, Claudine Allen and her husband, Michael, of Bangor, and Michele Collins and her baby's daddy, Corey Thibodeau, of Holden; two grandchildren, Brodie Allen and Isabella Thibodeau; five sisters, Gisele Oney of Limestone, Marcelle Hiatt of Corinth, Nicole Gagnon of Quebec, Ginette Chamberlaine of New Brunswick and Manon Kavanaugh of New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Anne Marie Rivard.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, with the Rev.
