FORT KENT - Jerome Marquis, 74, died peacefully Jan. 31, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at home after a long illness. He was born July 7, 1938, in Baker Brook, New Brunswick, the son of Liguori and Aline (Dube) Marquis.

Jerome was a mechanic most of his life and loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his camp. He was a member of Fort Kent Knights of Columbus in the third degree Council No. 0352.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Adrienne (Toussaint) Marquis of Fort Kent; four children, Jacques Marquis, Lisa and husband, Roland Levesque, Joel Marquis, all of Fort Kent, and Linda and husband, Danny Curran, of Milford; four grandchildren, Tessy and husband, Doug Taggett, of Fort Kent, Angie Levesque of Shirley, Melana and Cole Marquis of St. Agatha; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Tyler Taggett of Fort Kent; two brothers, Isidore and Luc Marquis of Edmundston, New Brunswick; and three sisters, Alice Ouellette and Germaine Robert, both of Baker Lake, New Brunswick, and Sister Lucille Marquis of Montreal. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Jean Louis, Maurice and Roger.
Friends may call 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday, Feb. 8, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. James Albert officiating. Spring burial will be held May 16 in the parish cemetery.
