Jeffrey had an extensive and rewarding career as a registered nurse employed at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Northern Maine Medical Center and other hospitals. He served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, 1971-1975. Jeffrey was also self-employed making and repairing custom bicycles at his workshop, Chain Chain Chain Bicycle Shop. He was also a master registered Maine guide, assisting sportsmen fishing and hunting. He was exceptionally adept at guiding black bear hunters for Northern Hideaway. Jeffrey deeply enjoyed collecting comic books, playing guitar, biking, hiking, canoeing, fly-fishing and riding his Harley. He supported Boy Scout Troop No. 189 in Fort Kent as an assistant scoutmaster, and he volunteered to assist at World Cup Biathlon. Jeffrey graduated from Caribou High School in 1968. He attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent, Orono and Farmington. He was a member of the Kappa Delta Phi fraternity. Jeffrey wanted specifically to acknowledge his wife, Rita, whom he considers the blessing of his life, a soul mate, partner, lover, and, most of all, a true friend. Jeffrey appreciated her love and devotion with emphasis on her outstanding support and caring nature throughout his life and his long illness. Jeffrey was a leader who led by example. He brought much joy to others with his delightful personality and unforgettable hearty laugh. He lived a life of righteousness, generosity, and humility. He was adventurous and courageous to his final breath. His love of life was evident by his moment by moment appreciation of the gifts God had bestowed upon him. He will be profoundly missed, although the mark he left in each of our hearts will remain forever.
The service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at First Assembly of God Church, 564 Frenchville Road, Fort Kent, with his friend, Pastor Duane Stiles officiating. Arrangements are a service of Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
