CENTENNIAL, Colo. - Jean Smith went to be with the Lord March 16, 2012, in Victorville, Calif. Born May 15, 1930, in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura St. Peter. She moved to Colorado in 1996 and worked for Mountain Bell Phone Co. for 19 years. When she retired she enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives. She also occasionally for brief times lived in Apple Valley, Calif. She is survived by two sons, Ricke Smith and Diane, and David Smith; one daughter, Karen McKinley and James; and daughter-in-law, Joani Smith. She is also survived by five grandsons, Jeremy Smith, Ryan McKinley, Doug Smith, Jeremiah Smith and Isaac Smith; one granddaughter, Jamie McKinley; and three great-grandsons, Jeremy Smith II, Edmond McKinley and Quintin Smith. She leaves one sister, Pauline Willette of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband; her youngest son, Douglas Smith; seven sisters and seven brothers. The funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, March 30, at Church of the Good Shepherd, Denver. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in her name to Denver Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 5206, Denver, CO 80217.
