EDMUNDSTON, NEW BRUNSWICK - Isidore L. Marquis, 70, died unexpectedly April 10, 2013 at an Edmundston, New Brunswick hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1942, in Frenchville, the son of Liquori and Aline (Dube) Marquis.

Isidore served on the supervisory committee for the Fort Kent Federal Credit Union for several years. He was an avid guitar player which he did often and had his own band for many years. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He will be remembered for his compassion, a very unselfish person, helping others which he loved to do. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Solange Marquis of Edmundston, N.B.; daughter, Nancy and husband, Raymond Cyr, of Fort Kent; two sons, James Marquis of Englewood, Colo., Glen and wife, Nancy Marquis, of Fort Kent; and their mother, Freda Marquis of Fort Kent; grandchildren, Brittany and Raechel Marquis, Sonia and Katie Bard, Kyle and Chelsey Marquis; two sisters, Sr. Lucille Marquis of Montreal, P.Q., Alice Ouellette of Baker Brook, New Brunswick; and one brother, Luc Marquis of Edmundston, N.B.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Germaine Roberts; four brothers, Jean, Maurice, Jerome and Roger.

Friends may call 9 a.m. Monday, April 15, until time of service at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in his memory to , P.O. Box 1626, Bangor, ME 04402-1626. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
