BANGOR - Helen G. Ellis, 90, died Jan. 2, 2013, at a Bangor nursing home. She was born July 23, 1922, in Otter Creek, daughter of Alton and Alberta (Bunker) Grover.

Helen graduated from Gilman High School, Northeast Harbor. She held various jobs and owned her own hair salon, Helen's Hair Fashions, Gorham. Helen liked skiing, golf, bingo and cribbage. She enjoyed traveling the country by motor home and visited most of the U.S. In recent years she enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and staff at Winterberry Heights, Bangor, as well as the support and companionship from her friends at Loving Touch In-home Care.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her companion of more than 60 years, Arnold L. "Bob" Wright; and all six of her siblings. Helen is survived by a daughter, Judith Solari of Orono; grandson, Jeff Solari and wife, Catherine, of Bangor; beloved great-grandchildren, Andrew, Caitlin and Ainsley Solari; special nephew, Michael McGrath of Arizona; great-nieces, Courtney McGrath Mosher and Anne McGrath Mosher of New Hampshire; and other loved family members that she spoke of often.
