ELLSWORTH - ELLSWORTH-- Harold A. "Tex" Huston, 89, died Feb. 16, 2013 at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Seal Harbor, the son of Frank A. and Agnes Huston.

Harold served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Gorham State Teachers College, Farmington, and his Masters in Industrial Arts at San Diego State College in California. He taught industrial arts and architecture at high schools in Rangeley, Ellsworth, and Coronado, Calif. He and his wife, Dorothy, lived in California for 30 years before returning to Maine in 1988. Harold enjoyed boating in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. He belonged to the Coronado Crown Club and Marlboro Yacht Club. He also was an avid model ship builder.

He is survived by one son, Gary Huston and wife, Becky, of Lamoine; and a granddaughter, Kelley Huston of Washington D.C. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, Dec. 2, 2006.
