MILLINOCKET - Gloria A. (King) Blanchette, 77, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at her home. She was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Millinocket, daughter of Edward and Gertrude (Deschenes) King. Gloria was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, spend time with family, and sing karaoke. In her younger day, she was an active member of Daughters of Isabella and later was president of the local Plus and Minus Club. She loved her family immensely and it showed in her care, concern and advice for them. Gloria touched the hearts of all she came in contact with and will be greatly missed. She was the mother of eight children, Linda Day and husband, Philip, of Millinocket, Priscilla Goodwin and husband, Mark, of East Millinocket, Brenda Robinson and partner, Roger Pelletier, David Blanchette, all of Millinocket, Theresa Deloge and husband, Rick, of Medway, Rose Gantnier and husband, John, Rhonda Powers and husband, Gerald, and Sharon Harmon, all of Millinocket; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and siblings, Donald King, Lavine Guillette, Geneva Ouellette, Bernadette King, and Wilfred, Clarence, Gilman, and Edgar Boucher. Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Camille Blanchette; and three brothers, Gerald, Omer and Edward King. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
