FISHER, Ill. - Gary Clifford Tarr, 75, passed away Saturday evening, March 3, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home. Gary was born April 7, 1936, in Perham, son of Clifford and Amber Dickinson Tarr. Gary is survived by his wife, Betty of Fisher, Ill.; mother, Amber Tarr of Lisbon; three children, Monica Tarr, Tom Tarr, and Troy and April Tarr, all of Fisher, Ill.; sister, Leann and Robert Cielinski of Lisbon; brother, Glen and Lorraine Tarr of Holden; four grandchildren, Brody Seidelman, Brent Seidelman, Clay Tarr and Ruby Tarr, all of Fisher, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Clifford Victor Tarr, in 1962. He married his wife, Betty Carlisle, June 27, 1959, in Royal, Ill. Upon graduation from Brewer High School, Brewer, class of 1955, Gary joined the Air Force. After serving 10 years, he joined Rantoul Police Department and retired as captain after 22 years on the force. Gary also drove school bus for several years after his retirement. Gary enjoyed various sports. He was a member of River Valley Church of Christ, Fisher, Ill. Gary was a strong supporter of the USA. Visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service noon Thursday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1151 East Grove, Rantoul, Ill., with the Rev. Michael Curtis officiating. Burial will be afterward at Willowbrook Cemetery, Fisher, Ill. Memorials may be made to River Valley Church of Christ.
