OLD TOWN - Galen LaFlamme, 77, died Dec. 6, 2012, at Orono Commons with his family by his side. He was born Aug. 24, 1935, son of William and Martha (Taylor) LaFlamme.

Galen graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1953. He spent most of his working years for the city of Old Town, first as a fireman and he retired from the Parks and Recreation Department. Galen enjoyed times with his family, and later in life he enjoyed coffee with the "old guys" at Tim Horton's.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Priscilla; son, Michael LaFlamme; daughter, Cheryl Baker and husband, Joe; special granddaughter, Emily; brother, William LaFlamme and wife, Sharon; sister-in-law, Evelyn Alix; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James and wife, Christine Laflamme. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ritter and the entire staff at Orono Commons for their wonderful and compassionate care.
A casual remembrance and celebration of his life gathering will be held 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Old Town United Methodist Church, Stillwater Avenue, Old Town.
