BANGOR - Frederick Wayne Whitney, 72, died Aug. 2, 2012, in Bangor. He was born March 1, 1940, in East Corinth, the son of Marguerite Canney Whitney and Charlie W. Whitney.
Fred loved playing the harmonica. He had a lot of love for nature and animals, and picking wild berries. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Fred is survived by four sons, Fred "Buster" Whitney, Fredrick Wayne Whitney Jr. of Bangor, Darol R. Whitney of Bangor and Bruce Whitney and fiancee, Krystal Whitney, of Bangor; daughter, Susan Maureen Whitney; a stepdaughter, Tammy Hazen and husband, Tony, of Florida; grandchildren, Jessica of Massachusetts, Fredrick Wayne Whitney III, Wolfgang and Mercedes, all of Bangor, Noah, Burce Jr. and Zakkary Whitney, all of Bangor, Johnny, Earnest and Melissa Sanabria, all of Florida; three brothers, Manly C. Whitney and wife, Mistsuko, of San Diego, Darol R. Whitney and wife, Linda Whitney, of Winter Harbor and Thomas W. Whitney and wife, Rosalie, of Hemet, Calif.; one sister, Sharon M. Harris of Glenburn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Neighborhood Church, 263 Texas Ave., Bangor.
