CARIBOU and PRESQUE ISLE - Frank Albert Labbe, 53, passed away peacefully July 13, 2012, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born May 7, 1959, in Caribou, son of the late Adrien and Nellie (Bolstridge) Labbe. Frank attended Caribou schools and Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, Presque Isle, where he completed the automotive mechanics program. He worked for 33 years in food services at Northern Maine Community College, where he met and befriended many students, co-workers and instructors. He was a gentle man with a big heart who was willing to help everyone. Frank enjoyed candlepin bowling and fishing. One of his favorite activities was researching the genealogical files at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Caribou, where he developed an extensive file of Bolstridge and Labbe ancestors. Frank is survived by a brother, Michael and his wife, Annette (Day) Labbe, of St. Agatha; niece, Haley (Labbe) Brown and her husband, Timothy, of Livermore; nephew, Christopher Labbe of Brunswick; niece, Kerry Hafford of Bangor; and several cousins. He leaves behind a dear friend and caregiver, Barbara Curry of Caribou. Frank was predeceased by his parents; and an infant sister, Pamela Labbe. The family thanks the nursing staff at The Aroostook Medical Center for their wonderful care and Dr. Kirtani for her expertise and gentle bedside manner. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Emile Dube officiating. After the service, a time of continued fellowship and refreshments will held at the parish center. Burial will be at New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Northern Maine Community College Foundation, 33 Edgemont Drive, Presque Isle, ME 04769. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
