DIXMONT - Frances E. Pagliarulo, 89, died May 22, 2012, at a Pittsfield hospital after a period of ill health. She was born May 17, 1923, in Soperton, Ga. She was raised by her grandparents in Georgia and attended school in Georgia. She was married to Daniel F. Pagliarulo, who predeceased her June 27, 1987. Daniel was a full-time Army officer and he served three tours of duty overseas, and she was able to go with him. She was employed as a civil service cashier all the time her husband was in the service. After his retirement she continued to work in small community stores in Newburgh and Unity, and she also worked at Unity Raceway. Frances was a Cub Scout den mother; she enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing. She is survived by her granddaughter and her husband, Wanda and James Dunivan of Dixmont; three great-grandchildren, Jonie and her husband, Michael Newman, of Dixmont, Christine and her husband, Adrian Rushton, of Alaska, and Andrew Braley of Dixmont; and four great-great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Catherine, Madalynn and James. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport, where memorial services will be directly after with the Rev. Timothy Boone officiating. Interment will be beside her husband at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
