OLD TOWN - Florine S. MacDonald, 90, died Dec. 2, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Old Town, daughter of Sylvio and Leona (Brun) St. Louis.

Florine was a devoted harness racing fan, at one time sharing ownership of a race horse with her beloved husband. She worked as a hand sewer at Old Town Shoe Co. for many years, and also owned and operated MacDonald's Tasty Freeze, Milford. She was a lifelong resident of French Island.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Hugh Doane of Milford; daughter-in-law, Sue (Desjardins) MacDonald of Orono; grandchildren, Ricky Doane Sr. and wife, Melissa, of Milford, Jeffrey MacDonald of Old Town, and Jessica (MacDonald) Johnston and husband, Troy, of Old Town; and great-grandchildren, Brandi Doane of Bangor, Ricky Doane Jr. of Milford, Kayleigh and Mikayla Johnston of Old Town. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph K. MacDonald; andchildren, Edwin "Mac" R. MacDonald and Sandra L. (MacDonald) Doane.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Please arrive by 1:45 p.m. at the Superintendent's Lodge, State Street entrance. Notes of condolence may be left at
