NEWPORT - Evelyn L. Davis, 79, died May 15, 2012, at a Pittsfield nursing home. She was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Palmyra, a daughter of John and Dorothy (Burrill) McKenzie. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Whitman and her companion, AC Raye, of Carthage, N.C., and Debra and husband, John Murray, of Newport; a sister, Doris and husband, Fred Elston, of Etna; six grandchildren, Angie, Amy, Mandy, Steve, Alisa and Jenni; five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Barry, Elijah, Kianna and Ridge; and her beloved cat, Blackie. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert. Graveside funeral and committal services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland, with the Rev. Kevin Brooks officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
