MARS HILL - Ella Viola Stickney, 94, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at a Mars Hill heath care facility. She was born Oct. 8, 1918, in River-de-Chute, New Brunswick, the daughter of Maylon and Gertrude (Coston) Gee.

Ella and her first husband, Leland, farmed in Knoxford, New Brunswick, from 1943 to 1949. In the same year she started attending Full Gospel Assembly, where she became a member. She and Leland owned and operated Bartley's Grocery store from 1961 to 1972 and then in 1973 started Bartley's Boarding Home and owned and operated it until 1979.
Ella is survived by a daughter, Candace Donovan and her husband, Harry, of Blaine; four stepchildren by her second husband, the late George Stickney: Nancy Patterson, Peggy Lawlor, Suzanne Toussaint and Patricia Richardson; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her first husband, Leland Bartley; second husband, George Stickney, in 1993; a son, Lester Bartley; four brothers, Cecil, Carl, Paul and Donald Gee; and five sisters, Ruby Hanscom, Edith Smith, Thelma and Dorothy Goodine, and Millicent Morehouse.
Family and friends may call 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Full Gospel Assembly, 9 Grove St. Extension, Mars Hill, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Wesley Faloon officiating.
