ARLINGTON, Mass. - The light known as Katina Manelli left this world July 10, 2013, from Lahey Clinic, Burlington, Mass. Ekaterini was born March 24, 1928, in Crete, Greece, to Theodore and Irene (Bonatakis) Lantzakis.

Katina married Nikolas Heretakis and had four children. In 1967 she moved from Crete to the United States for a better life for her family. She owned and operated several restaurants including, J & M Cafeteria, Lynn, Mass., Santoro's Subs, Arlington, Mass., Regal Pizza, Natick, Mass., and Guilford House of Pizza, Guilford.
Surviving is her husband, Michael Manelli of Arlington, Mass.; his children in Canada; her four children, Georgia Kisamitakis of Hampden, Vasiliki Heretakis, Irene Bonatos and husband, Andrew, all of Greece, and John Heretakis and wife, Charlene, of Dover-Foxcroft; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, John and Andrew Lantzakis; their wives; and sister, Koula, all of Greece; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families both here and in Greece.
A funeral service will be held 11a.m. Monday, July 15, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 90 Sanford St., Bangor, with the Rev. Ted Toppses presiding. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Condolences may be offered to her family at www.kileyandfoley.com.
