FORT KENT - E. Randall Pinkham Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at home. He was born April 7, 1931, in Fort Kent, the son of William B. Pinkham and Josephine (Randall) Pinkham.

Mr. Pinkham served in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Wisconsin during the Korean War. He graduated from University of Maine, Orono, in 1956 with a degree in forestry. After graduation he returned to Fort Kent, where he worked with his brother, Bill, as a logging and lumber contractor. Randy was a 50-plus year member of Fort Kent Rotary, and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow. He was recognized by the state of Maine Legislature in 2008 for his dedication and contributions to his community. He was a strong and active member in his community holding numerous leadership positions including: chair of Fort Kent Town Council, director of Fort Kent Library, board of directors of Northern Maine Medical Center, and University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation Board.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Theresa (Bourgoin) Pinkham; his brother, William B. Pinkham; three children, Edward Pinkham Jr. and his wife, Frances, of Sharon, Mass., Laura Risom and her husband, Sven, of Block Island, R.I., and Andrew Pinkham of Somerville, Mass.; and five grandchildren, Randall and Gillian Pinkham and Tucker, Ethan and Leah Risom. He was predeceased by his daughter, Dr. Jennifer Pinkham; and his sister, Lois (Pinkham) Bridges.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Christ Congregational Church, Fort Kent. Graveside service with full military honors will be afterward at Christ Congregational Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Dr. Jennifer L. Pinkham Scholarship, care of SAD 27, 23 West Main St., Suite 101, Fort Kent, ME 04743 or PAWS Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 94, Fort Kent Mills, ME 04744. Arrangements are a service of Daigle Funeral Home, 14 East Main St., Fort Kent.
