BAY CITY - Dorothy Anne Howard, 67, passed away early Friday morning, Sept. 21, 2012, at the James E. Cartwright Care Center after a lengthy illness. Daughter of the late Edgar J. and Virginia M. (Sutherland) DesJardins, she was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Caribou.

She married Richard L. Howard Sr. Sept. 4, 1965, and they recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Dorothy was owner and operator of Granny's Services for many years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and the League of Catholic Women and Men.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Richard, she leaves four children, Leslie Anne Tapp, Richard "Bud" and Rosalyn Howard Jr., Margaret and Frank VanHaaren, and Joseph and Gretchen Howard; nine grandchildren, Erin and Katherine Nesbitt, Duncan and Sarah Howard, Richard, Brandan and Dustyn VanHaaren, Jacob and Andie Howard; and one great-granddaughter, Adalynn Elizalde. Also surviving is a sister, Barbara G. Warriner; one niece, several great-nieces, nephews and several dear friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Bay City, Mich. Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of Mass Tuesday at the church only.
