HAMPDEN - Donald W. Parker, 94, husband of Dorothy (Reed) Parker, died Feb. 21, 2013, at his home. He was born March 29, 1918, in Bangor, son of John and Martha (White) Parker.

Donald worked as a clerk for Eastern Trust Co. for 25 years, and owned and operated Parker's Bicycle & Hobby Shop, Hammond Street, Bangor, for 20 years. He enjoyed a long retirement working in his garden, keeping his diaries and burning wood before it was fashionable.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years of Hampden; five sons, Bruce Parker and wife, Quyen, of Silver Springs, Md., Douglas Parker and wife, Donna, of Calabash, N.C., Roy Parker and wife, Beverly, Paul Parker and wife, Michele, all of Bangor, and Peter Parker of Vincent, Ohio; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Donald's family especially thanks his caregivers from Loving Touch for helping him stay home with Mom.

Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. Condolences to his family may also be offered at
