BROOKSVILLE - Donald "Bear" Hale III, 22, died July 13, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1991, in Limestone, son of Donald Hale Jr. and Jamie Ann Hale.

Bear grew up in Brooksville and graduated from George Stevens Academy in 2009. He worked at Maine Shellfish, Ellsworth, for three years. Bear was a member of the Downeast Family YMCA, and enjoyed weight lifting and Mixed Martial Arts.
Bear is survived by his parents, Donald Hale Jr. and wife, Leslie Cote-Hale, of Sargentville and Jamie Hale and husband, Steve Laprise, of Brooksville; sisters, Brittany Hale and fiancé, Jake Sprowl and Whitney Conley; niece, Haley Sprowl; paternal grandparents, Donald Hale Sr. and wife, Annette Jane, of Sargentville; maternal grandparents, Patricia and John Glass of Dover, Del., and Jim and Betty Hansbrough of Taneytown, Md.; uncle, Calvin Hale of Brooksville; cousins, Caleb and Ethan Hale of Brooksville; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Jordan Fernald, 141 South St., Blue Hill. A graveside service will be held 1p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Forest Home Cemetery, Sargentville, with the Rev. Harry Vickerson officiating.
